Marieke de Pooter (secretary)
Teacher Dutch as second language at Scalda. Mother of two daughters. Very motivated to go back to Malawi to take action and achieve results. She is a social person and easily makes contact with people from different cultures. Because of her experience as adjunct-director, she has large organisational skills that are very useful. marieke@stichtingchikondi.nl
Karin Risseeuw (treasurer)
Mother of a son and daughter. Working at van Oosten installations in Terneuzen (www.vanoosteninstallatie.nl) and at Bed & Breakfast ‘Op ’t hof Olmenstein’ in Kloetinge (www.ophofolmenstein.nl). When she was asked to be a part of the Chikondi Foundation, she didn’t have to give it a second thought. She didn’t visit Malawi herself (yet), but the stories of Marieke and Janet made a huge impression that made her want to contribute to improve the education for Malawian children, in whatever way possible; furnishing, housing, educational materials… Who knows what we will be able to do for them.
“We have ‘everything’ here, that is something we don’t realise everyday and something we cannot dwell on everyday… but it means that it’s always a good thing to look out for eachother, wherever in the world and in this case it concerns schoolchildren in Malawi”

Janet Verlinde (chairwoman)
Classteacher grade 7/8 at CBS De Oude Vaart. At home busy with her family with four children. She is looking forward to greet Malawi again and contribute to a better future for children in Chikwawa. As a silent force in the background, an essential part of our management. janet@stichtingchikondi.nl
Harro Deurwaarder (general board member)
Husband of Marieke, self-employed at Deurwaarder metsel- en tegelwerken. An indispensable link in controlling renovation plans. Fully captured by the enthousiasm, after the stories of Marieke. harro@stichtingchikondi.nl
Frank Chilongo (contactperson Malawi & board member of Frace, Focus For Action Centre)
Frank is teacher on an elementary school in the district Chikwawa. He is very valuable for our foundation. He coordinates the projects in Malawi. He is in contact with local entrepreneurs and arranges everything with them. He is also a board member of Frace, an organization that works with poor people, orphans and vulnerable elders and provides them with care and help.
Francis Mlewah (together with Frank our contact in Malawi, in particular concerning financial matters)
Francis is married and is a father to three children. He has studied at the Bunda college of agriculture in Malawi. He is working at the agricultural ministry, specialized in agriculture development. At this moment he is working most of the time from Ngabu, in southern Malawi. His knowledge, experience and extended network in southern Malawi are valuable and we are very happy with his addition to our team!
